Here's great live clip of Pat Metheny recoded this year. He's not paying an O, but his 2 supporting guitarist's are. This is a nice clip of good music and great playing, as well as, some Pat Metheny guitar face.

Yeah. Sorta like how "FUSION" became a dirty word 30 years ago. Still is the kiss of death. Marketing your music as "fusion" is like riding a camel to work or hunting with a stick. See my "O Stigma" thread below.....

Relating to this thread as well as the stigma thread: is it just because all the "big" brands are throwing money at everybody notable, and giving them guitars and stuff? How many O's might Keith Urban have at home, that he doesn't bring out 'cause Gibson gives him 15 guitars and pays him $$$ to play them?
(disclaimer: I have never noted what kind of guitar Keith Urban plays. he may or may not play Gibsons, and he may or may not get paid to play Gibsons. I have no knowledge of any promotional contracts to which he or his management team are parties. Please feel free to substitute any popular artist and any guitar brand to suit this analogy.)

Recently saw the "Brit Floyd" tribute show and the guitar player played every acoustic part on an Ovation. Being a "O' newbie, I'm not sure what model but it sounded great!
