There are some covers that are SO bad, you discover a guilty pleasure.
For me there is always the big-band heavy metal stylings of Pat Boone, like this downright EVIL cover of "Smoke on the Water." Do we need another "Smoke on the Water"? No, we do NOT.
It's hard to tell the difference between this and satire (Tony Clifton sings Dino, King of Cool in this clip from "Man on the Moon"... fast forward to 1:22)

OMG!!! Pat Boone covering Smoke on the Water? What makes it so much more awful is that he is completely serious. It's like a Saturday Night Live skit. Poor guy, what the hell was he thinking? Doesn't he have handlers that stop him from doing such things?

This list could not be complete without mention of Rolf Harris doing Stairway to Heaven. Make sure you watch up until the didgeridoo comes out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPOIy4Kb9M4

Some of you remember the wild days of punk. Dead Kennedys had a song "Too Drunk to F*ck" (apologies to the squeamish). Here is a really cool, almost catatonic BOSSA NOVA, acoustic version of that raging song. Beyond bizzare!!!

As a tribute to Boston, the people, the city, the band; Here is a cover I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. Damon found it, I repost it. Inspiring, sheer kick-***, plus a beautiful cameo by ADAMAS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H57pWC5rvk
