I don't know much about Adamas except that they don't have wooden tops (well now they have the WTs..). What kinds of tops have been used on the Adamas, what are the various pros and cons of these tops, and how can I identify one by model number if I was looking for one?

Ignorant bastid. That's what happens when you spend your youth making music instead of being bored in school.....

So basically one is undirectional textured or smooth with a birch core, and the other 2*2 twill textured with either poplar or plywood(!) core. I think in one of the 90s brochures one was deemed more suitable for fingerpicking and the other for strumming. Can someone go beyond those dry specs and comment if there are some tangible characteristics to differentiate the tops, such as sound or durability or price?
