Location: New Bern, NC | That Elite 2078 LX I wanted to buy was sold out from under me today. I am so bummed out! Day before yesterday I contacted the guy on Craig's List to let him know I wanted to buy it. Today he must have relisted it on ebay and it sold before I sat down at my computer this evening. I can't tell you how heartbroken I am. I really, really wanted that guitar. I hate to say it, but could it be that someone lurking on these boards saw my post about it, saw it on ebay and snapped it up before I could buy it? Next time I see a guitar I want I'm gonna keep it to myself, trust my instinct and BUY THE THING! Then and only then will I share it. LOL. |

Location: Canada | May I suggest you try to get a NEW one and become a registered owner. For example this one is available right now to make an offer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ovation-2078LX-Elite-Series-Acoustic-Electr...
I just purchased a 6756LX in the same way, with an offer accepted that was just over half of the asking price. It was also listed as New (other) and ovation customer service entered the warranty registration. I suggest you make 700 offer for this one, you can always go higher. |

I really like it, plays great and sounds great, it looks/feels very small and light. Though I think it has a bit less boom than the broken 6751 it replaces. I hope that the 6751 can be repaired for a reasonable price as I would love to compare them side by side, then I will probably sell the 6751. |

Could be different strings, different room acoustics etc. The 6751 has A-bracing, different neck construction, and the older bowl material, so that could also make a difference. Maybe side by side and both with similar strings I can make a more objective observation. It has been a few months that I played the Balladeer the last time, and I just got the Legend a week ago. |

Location: New Bern, NC | That's the one I was going to buy! It's gone now. It sold on ebay yesterday. I saw the one on ebay, same model in red burst. I'm not as crazy about the red. I do LOVE red, but I'm not sure I like it on a guitar. Still thinking abou it. |

Location: New Bern, NC | That red teardrop Custom Elite LX is very beautiful. That's really much prettier than the red one on ebay. Plus the Custom has the pearl inlay purfling. Are you offering to sell it?? |

Note, the purfling is abalone. |

Location: Bristol England | I have a C2078lx RTD made in 2008 and the lable inside gives it, as you would expect, a 'Custom Elite LX.
As a matter of interest, in England a new 2078Lx RTD is priced £550 ($827) dearer than a new 2078LX BCB.
The 2078 Legend is very strange. |

Definitely an incorrect label. Weird.
Someone sent me this link to Ovation's website. Let alone the label, I believe they have the entire wrong guitar pictured! If I'm NOT mistaken, a 1768 Elite is NOT a classical guitar?

Location: New Bern, NC | So THIS is a 1763: http://www.ovationguitars.com/archive/guitar/classic_1763 I guess Ovation screwed up on the pic for the 1768. So, if Ovation got it wrong, where else can one go to get info on a 1768 guitar? |
