Location: AKRON, OHIO | Alright another DUMB Question, Ive never owned a guitar that didn't have a truss rod cover on the headstock. Some ELITES have covers some do not. I know there adjusted from the other end BUT
Is one way BETTER than the Other???
THANKS !!

Location: Yorkshire, England | My Elite truss rod is accessed from inside the body - Ovation apparently supply specially extended wrenches. You achieve exactly the same thing in the end as with a top of the neck adjustment, but it's just a little harder to get to. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I doubt the K-bar neck was an attempt to save money. It would seem to be more expensive than a regular truss rod neck. I think they were looking for more stability, but one of the downsides was more weight. |

I know the previous owner did that to my 1115, and I think my 1121 is close.
My 1778T has a TRC, but I don't know if anything is under there.
[If someone knows, please say so. That way I won't be takin' stuff apart just to look! ] |

Well, with a 584222 serial number, and a cracked heel, it ain't as new as I was led to believe!
But it's the newest thing I've got... |

NOW! If there is an adjustment in the body and one on the headstock...
Which One Should I Use?
Or does it matter, cuz the headstock would be much easier.
[Fear not... I ain't adjusting anything. Just for future reference.]
And Thanx for the Education. |

| It will be one or the other, you won't have both. Righty Tighty Lefty Loosey.
I'd be more interested in the crack in the heal. This could be a real problem if it is opening up with string tension. ?? |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Okay... I had to look Again! I figured that since there way a manhole cover, there was the adjustment in there. Wrong!
THAT is how my heel got busted on the stealth fighter!
I emailed Kim Keller with pics, and Kim said that it looked like someone over-tightened the neck bolts... I was thinking, "Why would anyone do that?"
(Kim also said that it probably wouldn't fall apart, but Mom would replace the neck rather than try to fix it.)
I just looked in there, and there are bolts that take an Allen Wrench. Betcha the previous owner didn't own a flashlight, and just reached in there and started torquing stuff.
 Ooops! Time to lie alittle, and sell it on eBarf! |
