Location: New Zealand | Hi,I was wondering about this, do uni graphite tops verses woven top sound different, uni fibres are really flexiable I would imagine in one direction, and a woven top would be more flexiable to ways sound wise.....having worked with carbon and understanding that its a sandwhich lay-up ,like Carbon ,birch veneer carbon, whether uni or woven for the carbon ,Do they sound different? If so is it a big difference...I've only seen an Adamas on the Net or books. What I mean is would a 1597 sound different to 1581? Thanks for Reading |

Location: San Antonio, TX | When I bought my 1680 (Woven top), I had the privelege to play several other A's at the store before pulling the trigger.
I found the Woven top gave a deeper tone, a more full sound overall than the uni. Side by side just plucking one string on each, I could feel the sound from the woven top. The uni was a brighter sound.
Now i may have to go to the store again and play a couple of the Customs and the Mill..... Just started drooling... |

Location: Germany, where delicious wine is growing (Rheinh) | That's a good question! I can't answer this, but I was asked nearly the same question last week. Both are looking quite similar, but they are very different: 1680 vs. U681-T. Look in the thread "New Toy" I gave an answer and I think a bit of that is also true here.

| I suggest there is not a big difference in "sound" from the difference in uni verses weave.
Bigger differences would come from bowl depth/shape and string choice.
Adamas guitars of all types are a godsend to players.
