Just picked up a 1778T elite and figured I should let everyone know how nice of a guitar I now own. I wish I had bought this a couple of years ago but I am happy to have it now. It has the best sound ever for an acoustic. Anyways I am glad to be here.

Elite T's are great guitars.
The USA-made ones are getting scarce too...

Someone with the proper authority will be along eventually to upgrade your status.
It is the Holidays, so...

I was not 100% sure about buying it but I am glad I did. I had a celebrity that was traded towards the Elite T. It had the same medium bowl but this thing just seems to project so much more and the bass is so much stronger.
I did want a USA made guitar since I have not been overwhelmed by any guitars made in China. A bonus is that the solid black color goes well with my Black 85 Kramer Baretta Re Issue. It is definitely a good match.

The USA T has better wood and different bracing.

--from an old Musicians' Friend listing--
Ovation 1778T Elite T Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar Specifications

Body Type: Mid-Depth Super Shallow Cutaway (Really it is just a Mid-Depth)
Top: Solid Spruce
Bracing: Quintad (TX has "Scalloped X Bracing")
Scale Length: 25 1/4 inch
Fretboard: Ebony (TX has Stained Rosewood)
Fret Inlay: None
Bridge: Ebony
Rosette: Multi Soundhole 11 hole configuration - bass side
Pickup: Ovation Thinline
Nutwidth: 1 11/16 inch
Machines: Black
Case: Included -- Notice that USA Ovations used to come with a Case!

The Korean version of practically all Ovation guitars has "Scalloped X Bracing" which should not be confused with LX bracing... The LX is a totally different critter.

Quintad Bracing was on all the Elites and it is very similar to Adamas bracing. The idea was to have the bracing run directly from the neck block to the bridge for the most support.
So they did away with the center-hole and created the epaulets.

I had a 1778TX for a few weeks, and I even took it outside. It is a nice guitar.
But side-by-side the 1778T (no X) blows it away.
I bought the TX cuz I couldn't find a T... Then as soon as I got the TX, I found a T.
So I bought the T and sold the TX.
BTW-- The T and the TX sounded similar when I got the T... but then I changed the strings.
So a TX sounds like a T with dead strings.

Thank you for the great Info! I could not find really anything even close to that info. Now I am glad I have a T and not the TX. Thank you again.
