Location: Connersville, Indiana | I have a 95 6868 Elite and I see there are so many Elites by Ovation, is my understanding that of the Elites this one is on the lower end of them. Hey Don't get me wrong. I just love this SSB guitar.
This is the one I bought from a good friend Lance at his store a long time ago, but its a mid bowl, 6868 Elite dated 96 and has such a beautiful full sound. I've been getting confused, which is not hard, researching all the types of Elites. Just wondering. Thanks.

Location: Phoenix AZ | It's the lower end of the USA Elites (which ain't a bad thing!). I think they called them "Standard Elite".
Standard Elite had 2 piece neck, no inlays, etc.
Elite had 5 piece neck, walnut markers, and a few other visual goodies
Custom Elite had abalone binding
That's off the top of my head, but probably close. |

Location: Connersville, Indiana | Thank you so much brother. Learned a lot. I do love these guitars. Standard or not I have recorded a lot of songs with these. Since I have never played the other Elites this really helps.

Binding options, special grain patterns, etc.
The exception being the use of Abalone inlays which totally enhance the tonal output and can make the player look more handsome and capable! |

Dave? It's a joke. (Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge. Know what I mean? Know what I mean. Eh?)
