Location: Vancouver Island, BC | Last Nov I bought a "beater" folklore here. Sunken top, a few cracks, otherwise in fine shape.
A few hours of heavy humidity, followed by over 4 months in clamps, crackfilling etc, then letting it take its "set" over the summer, while beating on it regularly. Fanal set-up in sept. One happy player! It sounds wonderful, with great action. Thanks oma!
In Sept I found a '78 Pacemaker on dbay. Cracked headstock. 4 cracks in the top that you could shine a flashlite through. 3 weeks later it's done. Had a pro dress the frets for wear.
So I have 2 slotheads, lerned a few things and added to my collection without breaking the bank, and I truly enjoy these two, also for their differences (short neck, and wide for the 6).
The tough part: I'll try to post a picture... |
