I'm not a luthier, but I've read several books on the subject and I'm fascinated by the art. Recently I ran across a picture of a repair that made me scratch my head. Was this the result of a neck reset? It almost looks like the neck block itself was moved.

I've not seen that on an Ovation but I've seen it on many (too many) Norlin Gibsons from the 70s. The tops crack alongside the neck block and everything shifts forward from string tension.
