| Hello, I just bought a older ovation celebrity and not having a lot of luck finding information on it. The labor says it is a model GC68 and if I go by the serial number dating on the ovation web site it was made in 1982. However I have also read the celebrity models came out in 1983? And I do not see anything for a GC68 in archived models. It is a cutaway 6 string, volume and tone controls. It is being setup right now but I would like to know if anyone else has or has had this model before and if they did make celebrity guitars in 1982. Thank you |

I do know that Celebrity serial numbers bear no relation to USA serial number dating system.
I am guessing that a GC68 would be similar to a CC68 with minor differences.
Any Ovation that has "GC" in the number was made for Guitar Center so it might have differences that GC requested.
Someone with more info should be along soon.
