Hi,

I have a Balladeer S771 with an OP30 pre-amp and a Adamas W597 with an OP50 pre-amp, when I plug them into my AER compact 60 amp I always set the volume slider/knob to max on OP30/50, set the gain so it's not being clipped and then control my volume with the master.

Is this this the best way to setup or should I be reducing the volume on my OP30/50 and increasing the gain?

Which method is best for avoiding feedback?

Many thanks

Matt

I tend to run the preamp volume at around 2/3rds. That way I have a little headroom if I need to turn-up. As Nigel Tufnel said in Spinal Tap "You're on 10, where can you go?... nowhere, so this one goes to 11"

As for feedback, every situation and setup is different, but the basic rules are don't play so loud that the onstage volume sets the top in motion or excites the guitars fundamental frequency. Don't over-use tone-controls. If you need to use extreme cuts or boosts to get a decent sound it's usually an indicator of a badly EQ'd or just plain bad sound system. Proximity to your amp and PA speakers is also a factor. Learn how to use the notch filter on the Op50, amd/or buy some Ovation airlocks (I have them in stock! shameless plug, again)

Too late. I just bought both sets. Do I get valued customer discount?

Bas&**d. I thought I was cornering the market. It said there were only two sets available. Another get-rich-quick scheme fails.
Don't two sets qualify for quantity discounts?
Can you start selling Corus amps at less than the rest of the trade?
