Does anybody know how to get a truss rod wrench for very old Adamas?
I have purchased 1978 Adamas whose serial number is less than 100. It is pretty cool and quite beautiful.
But neck condition is not perfect for me, so I want adjust it slightly.
I found that the shape of truss rod is a little different with later Adamas's one.
I also have 1981 Adamas. It seems that the wrench for 81 can not be used for 78.
I will visit Boston and Washington, D.C. this weekend (10/26-10/31).
I am very happy If I can get a wrench for 78 Adamas at any guitar shop in those cities.
Do you think it is possible?
I will contact with Ovation on this as well.

Sorry, I don't have the answer to your question. I'm near Boston but I'm no help, I'm afraid.

But I just had to say... if silence is golden, you are a wealthy person indeed! One post in 10+ years!

If the serial number is less than 100, your Adamas was built in 1977...I have #99 and it was the last built in 1977. Also contact me by PM concerning your question.

MusicMishka,
It must be built in 1977, but there is a description "1978" on the label.
I'm not sure what this means.
Anyway I will send you a message from PM. Thank you.

He'll share all; He contacted the factory as I had done in the past...I've done this on several early ones and I told him that the factory had shared the info with me and would do the same with him...and he'll let everyone know what they said...breath in, breath out...good!

The tension rod adjustment nut has a standard 3/16" (4.76MM) hexagon socket.

The large form Ovation supplied wrench can be found on ebay occasionally...
