Any plastic material like that. Something that is good and solid.
I say credit card, but library card, Safeway card... Whatever.
Just depending on the thickness of what you need.

Location: Germany, where delicious wine is growing (Rheinh) | I'm with Arthur, if you need more thickness, cut up a circuit board, even more, lookout to get a bone saddle of a classical guitar and use it flat.

Location: Flahdaw | Good question. I KNEW about the credit card solution, hadn't heard about using a bone classical saddle. In a perfect world, I guess a sliver of bone or maybe a sliver of tusc would be the best shim material???? If not, what? |

Location: Tuscany, Italy | Normally the less you put under a saddle the better. However It should be consistent material like bone or brass (or wood, why not....). |

Location: Marlton, NJ | The obvious answer is to call the factory. When I contacted them about shims, I was prepared to buy some but they graciously sent me a bunch of them for free.
