Location: Boise, Idaho | So I was walking down a street in Kilkenny, Ireland, last week, looking for some good Irish Traditional Music, and saw that the Acousticats were playing. I thought that sounded like the name of Paul Templeman's band from Scotland, so I made sure we were back there when the band was supposed to start at 10. (We learned that Ireland pub time means that 10 could be any time before 11.) Turned out Paul's band is the Acousticrats, but we stayed to hear the Acousticats anyway. The duo was very good, but not traditional Irish music. After several attempts, I still didn't get to hear any Trads, with the fiddles, flutes and Irish pipes, so I bought a CD. Ireland is great for a music lover. Every town seems to have rows of pubs with music every night.
Another trip will have to be made to listen to the Acousticrats in Scotland. |

Thanks, Cliff. That may explain why I couldn't find much when I did a search here. Bad spelling and bad memory is a bad combination.
I stopped in the lovely Newark airport on the way back from Ireland, but no time to look up anyone from New Jersey. That might have been my only time in the state. Not all factories and billboards. Pretty dense forests just west of the cities. |
