Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Well, the time has come everyone! The 2013 OFC Calendar is only "proofreads and edits" away from going to press. Of course, in order to send it along, I need to know how many to order. So here's the deal:
The cost for the calendars in the continental United States will be $12.50. This includes the calendar, shipping fees, and Paypal fees with the exception regarding international shipping detailed immediately below. (I know I originally said $12, but I forgot about Paypal, and believe me, based on the pre-orders, it adds up fast!)
I know many of our overseas members have inquired about shipping, but I can only provide a ballpark figure based on the U.S. Postal Service website. I can estimate the size and weight of course, but beyond that it is pure guesswork. From what I can tell, shipping to Europe and Australia will run about $12 extra to send it via First Class mail. (I know, I know! The shipping costs as much as the calendar does! But there is little I can do about it.) Of course I can try to combine orders and ship for those who can easily get them around to each other. So when you order, please be sure to remind me if you are overseas so I can budget everything accordingly.
This is important! The spreadsheet I began several months ago with the pre-orders is sorted by your OFC user name. Please be certain to include it however you contact me so I can keep records straight. This is especially important if you communicate via email.
Payments can be made via Paypal to:
patchhobby@patchworkmcg.com
If you prefer to send a check or money order, please contact me via PM or email and let me know. I would prefer not to post my address on an open internet forum. Be certain of course to include your shipping address when you order.
The deadline for payment is Monday, October 1, 2012. If all goes as planned, I will be able to mail the calendars by mid-November. Which means of course, that these will be there in plenty of time to wrap them for Christmas presents.
Remember, I cannot order the calendars unless enough people pay for one. I need a minimum of 50 bought and paid for to place the order, so please do not wait if you don't have to.
As I stated before, if there are any left-over funds, they will be donated to the OFC.
I sincerely hope all of you are pleased with the end result. Those who have seen various drafts as the project has evolved have been very positive about them.

Patch...what is the current # of orders lacking. that need to be filled We have payment for 30 so far. 20 more to go and the order can be placed. Any extra above that and everything's good as gravy. If everyone who pre-ordered follows through, we will be fine. I'm just pushing a bit as I want this project done before Thanksgiving. |

51 Calendars have been ordered. 31 Calendars have been paid for.
10 more days until the payment deadline. If it has to be extended, two things might occur: - The cost per calendar may go up due to holiday demand. (Not my decision. The printer starts to get busy come October.)
- It may take longer to get the calendars printed. It is already 4-6 weeks turnarond. After that time, it can take longer due to the workload at the print shop.)
Time to get your orders, and your payments, in everyone. And of course, to all of you who have already done so; Thank you kindly! |

Patch,
Do you have enough PAID orders to proceed?
Not yet. We are short about 15. I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised that the level of interest in this project has only added up to a total of 36 orders paid for; especially since I posted an "Is anyone interested?" thread months ago and quickly accumulated over 50 "Count me ins." I might add that quite a few of the folks who have paid already were members who had not been on that initial list. All I know is, it's gonna be close!
(NOTE: Old Man Arthur ordered another while I was originally typing this response. I've edited in the new total. Thanks OMA!)

Like I said, it's gonna be close.
A minor aside though. I thought today would be the day that I did my final proofread of the calendar front to back. I found a couple of typos and changed some minor layout details. (As anyone who has done any kind of graphic project knows, there's always SOMETHING you think can look a little better eh?) I was done. I was pleased. (I think.)
Then it hit me.
I couldn't believe it.
I had neglected to format the pages for the hole that would be punched to hang the calendar.
That shouldn't be too hard to fix thought I!
I was wrong. It's fixed now, but what a pain! The final proofread is re-scheduled for Monday....mostly because I need a drink now. |

I will mail the graphics files to the printer tomorrow. Turnaround time is 4-6 weeks.

Thanks to all who helped and ordered. And a special thanks to those who added a little extra "postage" to help with costs. |

Most of the calendars were shipped on Thursday the 8th. Any ordered close to that time may not have shipped yet. I apologize for the dealy and all should be shipped before Thanksgiving. If you have not received yours within a reasonable time, please let me know. Overseas members? Your guess is as good as mine, but most are already on their way.
When I am certain all is said and done, I will post a notice regarding any leftovers.
I hope all of you have a great new year and a good way to keep track of it.

I've got to admit, I've cut it just a tiny bit fine with the price. At the moment, I'm a hair negative financially. Nothing serious of cours and I'm glad to cover the difference, but if I do this again, I will likely charge $2-$3 more to be safe. As it is, the OFC won't be getting much of an overage check this time.
Miles and Al, if this project climbs into the black, I'll just make a contribution for that amount via the donation link.
I'm glad folks seemed to like the end result. I want to thank everyone who submitted photos and for putting up with my, sometimes nitpicky, requests for further information. I hope you all see the method to my madness now. It was a fun project, though tons of work. I learned loads about layout, Photoshop, and Publisher on the way. And might I finally add, the people on this board have some mighty fine instruments! |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | As a favor to me, please post any orders to this thread so I don't have to jump back and forth between here, PM's, and emails. (This is especially helpful at the moment as my email server has been down all day. (HINT, HINT; if you sent me an email yesterday or today, I may not have gotten it.) |

We have moved every calendar save ONE. I will hold that in reserve for 2 weeks just in case someone's got mangled in the mail. I will then make it available for sale to the first person who asks.

Location: Utah | And so this morning I turned the 2012 OFC calendar to the last photo, Damon's 1617s. I am looking forward to hanging the 2013 in just one month. Yes they are beautiful. Patch, thanks for doing the work to put the 2013 together. |

A very few members may have an extra or two for those who want to take a last stab at getting one, but from the lack of large envelopes on my desk, I can finally state:
"It's been fun, but the 2013 Ovation Fan Club Calendar project has officially come to a close!" Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!

Thanks to all of you who submitted photos and to Patch for bringing it all together. Great job everyone!
