Location: Simpsonville, SC | Last year lanaki and I sent out two of the books about Ovation guitars, their history, etc.
I think mine went down to Florida (Slydog or Amazingly Detached maybe?) and lanaki's was making a tour around the world.
Anyway, I was wondering if they are still in circulation or had found their way into someone's bathroon bookshelf?! |

Location: south east Michigan | It's to bad they went missing. They went through a lot of hands everyone wrote their Ovation stories inside. We had plans to do something like retire them to the Mothership after they were fill up.
I think they are sitting on the shelves of people who don't post here anymore. |

But it IS a good question cause the book had a bunch of other stuff that was accumulating, hopefully, for you when it got back to it's original departure point. I think Brad nailed it, the last person just took the book and forgot about it. Anybody know where they are?? |

That is unfortunate that they're gone if that is indeed the case. |

Location: Simpsonville, SC | Humble...I don't think that lanaki's has been to Denmark yet...it would be a great addition to it's World Tour. Someone will show up with it, wait til then and get on the rotation, or PM Capo Guy and see if he will send that one to you. |

I emailed him a few times, he said he was packing it to send, then he stopped replying to my emails.
No idea what happened.
There are a few of us down here that would like to add our signatures to one of the books before returning it north of the equator. |

I would gladly contribute to $tarting another book 'world-wide tour'. I did this with three books of a political nature that can not be named here. I got feedbacks for about a year and then poof... But it was interesting in watching their journeys!
If this is to be attempted again, may I suggest that each 'forward' be posted here in a 'sticky'. That way the 'OFC hive mind' can monitor and encourage movement.
Those 'O' books that are now in the cosmos may not be ever retrieved.
Just my . I'd consider my contribution as an appreciative 'thanx' for this site and it's members! |

Location: Simpsonville, SC | I feel / felt the same way 2iffy. Others have done this with "Tha Book" before and it always seems to bog down somewhere, but for the small price of it, around $25.00 - $30.00, it is nice to spread the O history.
muzza, Grif has posted here recently (Feb, 2008), so maybe he just forgot or is a procrastinator (like me). Hopefully he will read this post and forward the book to you, then it too can continue it's journey.
BTW: the book is "The History of the Ovation Guitar" written by: Walter Carter. A brief google search didn't reveal any that were available for sale, but maybe one will popup sometime. I know that they are out of publication.
Maybe someone else would like to offer up one that they have for a tour?!
Damon, seems you're next on tha block, Humblepie amd Pez have requested a session with it, so y'all should PM Damon67 for next availability. Enjoy it and don't forgit to PASS IT ON.

If I do get it to you first, I may have to hand deliver. That's quite a signature. |

Back on topic. If Capo Guy is sending the book to Damon67, who is planning on attending the Northwest Function, let him keep it til then and bring it, or forward it to another attendee and have them bring it.
What about it Damon? |

.....no, I normally fail to live up to the hype. Ask the guy who hired me to fly from Comox to Yellowknife in 1975....... it's a boring story.
Except for the sex, drugs, and folk 'n' roll. |

| I had one a few years ago to. I remember drawing a little doodle and signing it. Thought this book was the coolest idea I had seen in some time. I sure hope these are not lost. Who started this anyway?? I think mine came for MWoody originally ?? Not sure now it is all a blur. |

Just got an extremely apologetic email from Grif. Like many of us, life just got in the way.
I'll keep you posted.
Ozwatto was next on the list after me. Are you there, Oz?
AJ, I have this strange idea that you already have a copy? If you do, do you still want to sign this one? |
