Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I just read this in my new issue of Premier Guitar: Donald "Duck" Dunn died May 13 in Tokyo Japan following two shows earlier that evening. He was 70 years old. A truly legendary bass player, Duck had played on some of the most famous hits of all time and along with his schoolmate Steve Cropper were the driving force in Booker T and the MG's...suffice it to say that he was instrumental in creating some of the greatest R&B anda huge part of the Memphis sound. He will be missed and IMHO is irreplaceable. Thanks Donald for the great bottom end...Rest in Peace.

Location: Northwest Arkansas | There aren't hardly any musicians with that kind of talent now. He played all styles of music. He had a great studio presence during the 60's and 70's. He played on a lot of stuff. Lee Sklar is another one. |

Al, I agree...I just found out today and did a search but saw no other posting about it...I was overseas and have been traveling since I got back so I didn't catch the original announcement....
Damon, yes, he was awesome in "The Blues Brothers"; one of my all time favorite movies...so many in it are gone now....
