I have used this tuning almost exclusively for decades. Has anyone here tried it? I recently discovered a cool FaceBook community of players (just over 100) who use P4. You will find a good discussion there about "Why P4?":

I try straight fourths every year or so. I made some scale and arpeggio charts years ago before there were programs to do it. But after a week or two I always fall back to noodling in standard tuning. I've also failed at playing the Stick which is tuned in fourths and fifths.

Well, I've used Perfect Fourths for many years and have "re-tooled" completely. One nice thing is the interplay between Jeff's (my bandmate) standard tuning and my P4 tuning. Lots to explore there. Here's is an example:
