Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Dick Clark died today of a heart attack at 82. He is remembered as the perpetual teenager...and introduced much of the music we grew up with (if you're older than 30). RIP Dick...

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | He'll be forever hooked to American Bandstand where he introduced a lot of the afternoon viewing teen world to rock and roll in the 1950s and 60s. I think a lot of the YouTube clips of vintage R&R acts came from his shows. |

Location: NJ | when I was a kid American bandstand was on for 3 or 4 hours in the afternoon. my mom would sit me in my play pen and turn on the tv and rock and roll would baby sit me for the afternoon. Along with cowboys, american bandstand is one of the reasons I play guitar.
btw when he first opened them the American Bandstand restaurants were great.... they like so many other things went down the tubes.

I had forgotten about that. I usually had to switch to another channel rather than watch him struggle to talk. I am sure he wanted to keep doing it and it was probably good therapy for him, but it's just hard to watch when the world's oldest teenager finally ages. |

So long, Mr. C.
