Tried searching for this as I'm sure I saw a topic on it.....are some Elites not actually glued to the body up at the top end? Did I read that some are and some aren't? Sort of floating? if that's correct, which ones are and not?
Also what's the general going rate for a pick up for a 1868?
Thanks

As to the going rate for a 1868, watch ebay..... |

Despite marketing spew to the contrary, it has no real effect on the sound or playability. I'd personally rather have the damn thing glued down. I have seen a few floaters (shut up Cliff) fail to lay flat and cause set up issues with fret buzzing. |

Location: Tennessee | The original Elite (1537) had a floating fretboard ... except for the one that some rocket scientist thought needed a couple of woodscrews to get that fretboard extention good and solid. Standingovation knoweth of which he speaketh, especially when it comes to floaters. martinez - 2012-03-11 12:50 PM Also what's the general going rate for a pick up for a 1868? I'm trying to understand your question. Do you mean buying a guitar, or buying an undersaddle pickup for your guitar, or maybe even something else? |

I mean the under saddle pick up, sorry, yes. No probs, it's only for future reference, I may have a small problem with mine... |
