....and if you think the FUTURE is stupid, you're not paying attention NOW.

about 2 years ago Fender asked me to submit a batch of designs that where reminiscent of my old poster stuff. turned in about 6 designs total. they picked this one and another one that is mostly black with a skull and some blood. They had requested 'extremely bold' graphics.
I do believe this was in an effort to reach a different group of people other than their normal customers.
I personally am not a guitar player nor versed in any history of guitars or anything like that.
I can appreciate the fact that this isnt enjoyed by the 'traditional' guitar players, and to tell the truth, its been a while and I had more or less forgotten about it. I suppose it is pretty weird for a guitar.
you guys take it easy , if anyone feels the need to further insult me you can always join my Facebook page.

To most Americans, I would think it would be offensive to represent our country by depicting the Statue of Liberty defaced as a skull and Anarchy in black written across the American Flag blotched in blood... Of course, what he sees is "mostly black with a skull and some blood." Right. Sometimes you have to keep in mind that Dr. Frankenstien was a proud dad...

Location: SoCal | Jay, If this was one of Kozik's posters, I'd say it was not the first piece of artistic expression that I've seen with depictions that I find inappropriate or offensive. What pisses me off... is that Fender, "An American Icon", put this $hit on guitars.

That really doesn't work for me, because I cannot afford the guitars I do like.
I am just mystified why an American company, with the heritage Fender and its subsidiaries have, would want to produce a guitar that is so blatantly anti-American and embraces Anarchy?
Maybe it is just for overseas sales.

Well said Prof! One man's trash is another man's treasure also comes to mind. Definitely not my cuppa, but at $99 somebody's probably buying them.
Rebelling against authority, through the choice of fashion or musical expression kinda sounds familiar. Every generation wants to piss off (or at least differentiate itself from) the old farts.
As long as the kids with those guitars stay off my lawn, we don't have a problem, |
