Location: Boise, Idaho | This will be a big day for Glen. They did a nice job with his interview this morning on CBS Sunday Morning. I paid particular attention to how he and his family deal with his alzhiemer's, since my mother was recently diagnosed. There were several scenes, both current and old, with him playing an Ovation. During the interview with him and his wife, he either held an Ovation or had it leaning up against his leg.
There will be a tribute to him tonight at the Grammys. |

I saw him in concern before Christmas and it was sad and wonderful at the same time.
I can only wish him well |

Sad actually, all my musical (and other) heroes are dying off. I guess that's what happens when you get my age. Lol. At least I'm still here to enjoy the show. |

Location: Tennessee | It was a recent wood-topped Adamas 12 with bass side epis only. Looks really good. It was nice to see Glen remember all the words to Rhinestone Cowboy, but you could see and hear the challenges he's having these days.
What warmed my heart was the shot of him in the audience when the Beach Boys take the stage ... you could see Glen waving up at the guys and seemed be be remembering when he played and toured with them.
It was a nice night for Glen. |

I generally don't watch Awards shows, but I made an exception for Glen. |

When I saw him in December, I believe the tele was only for the words. The camera shots from the sides caught the teleprompters (3) on the big screen and thats all I could see that they were rolling. He likes to work the stage, so the only time he gets in a little trouble is when he is on the move and loses track of where the tele's are. I also noticed...he doesn't play much guitar when he is singing (and reading the tele).

If Alzheimer's never touches your family, count your blessings, it is a horrible and frightening disease. I think the fact that Glen publicly announced his condition and then went out on tour was nothing short of courageous, (on his part, and his familiy's.) I hope Glen's public acknowledgement helps to keep the funds flowing in for research.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I was complaining to SWMBO that Glen wasn't coming to Boise on his tour, so she got online and scored tickets to his show in Phoenix, where we'll be this weekend, visiting her folks. Hope the teleprompters aren't too big, because it sounds like we'll be right up front.
On the CBS Sunday Morning interview, Glen had to ask his wife what "we" have and what it was. When she told him it causes him to forget things, he said "Well, I've always done that." Same thing my mom says. |

Had I not known about his condition, I wouldn't have suspected a thing based on his performance. His closing remarks, that we weren't suppose to hear, would have been funny.
We love you Glen...and don't you forget it! |

The segment featuring Glen tonight on the Grammy's was fantastic. I only saw one Ovation on the stage, but it was strategically placed first behind Blake Shelton and then behind Glen.
It was being played by Glen's son, Shannon, who also plays an Adamas II contour bowl on stage..... |

Tested on mice of course but they said it reversed all effects with 72 hours of ingestion. Of course I can't remember what drug it was but it seemed very promising. |

Note Ry Jarred’s ever-present Ovation Wood Top Adamas 12 string (2058WT).
I noted it.
I also noted that there was no link to the model, and a search of the Ovation site didn't find it either… ?

I missed it when it originally aired, but it was better than I had imagined. Glen is still amazing and he has a pretty amazing family. God bless 'em all! |

I think it's a special order guitar, like the 1581WT..... |

That would explain it.
Since they pointed out the guitar, it seems to me that they could have added either a link to more information, or an asterisk tied to a footnote such as; *Available by special order only, please contact Lost Art/Vintage for ordering information.

Location: Boise, Idaho | Saw him last night in Phoenix. His memory loss and inability to find words was obvious, but his musical ability wasn't lost. He did better on the old songs, but used the teleprompter lots. He had to ask what key almost all the songs were in, but he still had great chops on the guitar. It was a really nice night out. |
