This is the Folklore. It has a very wide nut at 1 7/8" leading up to a slotted headstock. I loved the rosette, but my fav on this guitar was it's luscious looking spruce top. The nut wa a bit too wide for my tastes though. I still intend to buy one of the last models (1 3/4" nut) to come out of New Hartford.... Some day.

I even bid on it.
Price went way outta my league (which isn't hard to do).
But that sure is Purdy. |

Location: Tuscany, Italy | I have to admit myself that its a very nice guitar. Until a few years ago I would not have looked at this particular model of Folklore. I was tied to that of the '70s.
Tastes change ... hopefully for the better. |

The original Folklores sound nice. Big voice and nice wide fingerboard. 1 7/8"
Price depends on condition and how much you like it.

I have a '79 Folklore that I found in a pawn shop about 3 years ago for $300. It's in good shape, the case however, is fairly beat up but still functional.
It's a very decent sounding guitar, maybe a little more bottom end than other Ovations I've played... probably because it's a 12-fretter. The neck is huge - I like it!

| beautiful spruce top, I like the Rosette. though others here(Cliff) refer to it as the swirly... like a towel twisting and swirling as it flushes down the commode.
very nice photos Damon.
Thank You for sharing them.
