And they didn't wash it either. It is covered with dust, and had a red hard-candy stain on the top, which made my heart skip...
I was looking at the Fed Ex Track, and it said 14.7 pounds... Now I have never shipped a guitar that light. So either no case, or no box. It was the later! But it is one of the Good cases, with the metal stick-on letters, so that is cool.
I am still letting it warm-up, but I took it outta the case. It is still a bit cool inside, since there are only eleven little holes.
(It oughta be ready by the time I compose this...)
So... Time to Brag!
I really need to clean that corner before I take pictures, huh? :p |

Twenty years from now that model will be very sought after here on the OFC.
Did you hear that Al & Miles?.... 20 years from now.
And Al... to put that in perspective, that's after 20 more OFC Factory Tours.
Wait sec. Hold on.
Oh no... that's 20 more calendars!!!
Very nice OMA... Let's see a picture of you playing it. |

I received an Epi Sheraton II shipped that way, except it must of had a full roll of wide plastic packaging tape around the case seam.
Enjoy the 'heat'! |

"Elite 1778T $1789"...
Also, my 1778T-5 has a thin saddle, but this one has the wider one, like my 1718...
I thought that that was the "older" style, but this guitar is newer than my black one.
(14,631 guitars newer)

Putting the guitar case in box would not provide
anymore protection, except maybe keep the case from
getting scuffed. I do however put some packing material under, and above the headstock to keep it from flexing during shipping. |

Hers, though is the previous iteration of the Red Flame. It has the Op30 preamp and the candy apple red color. Old Man Arthur's is the newer version with OpPro and the orangy red paint job.

Oh, and OMA, that's a very nice guitar. I've been toying with the idea of one of those, but just haven't brought myself to the flame thing yet... |

Yeah Muzza, I thought the same thing when I first saw them... Or that you gotta run across the stage that direction.
But, Jim, they kinda grew on me over time. Way back when I first started in my O-diction I let a GCXT get away for $500 BIN (Free shipping too)! Decided that I oughta grab this one. Since they are going for $800 plus now!
One of these days I will get one of dem Puke-Blue Adami... Didn't like them when I first saw them either. |

Sig, that's such a cool pic. Why don't they have it up on the band page? |

Nice grab.
BTW I am now having my guitars shipped from the US (in cases)just bubble wrapped and covered with a few layers of plastic wrap.
No problem so far and a lot less packing.

BTW, thanks for the CD. Seven Story Fall has some great guitar work! The vocals aren't my style, but having said that, the kids have some real talent there. And a very nicely done CD. |

AJ This may be a trend... My Tak G330 came shipped like this, and survived. I guess that if you have a good case it don't matter.
If they are gonna drop it, or squish it, the box may not help.
On the plus side... They KNOW it is a guitar, and may use some care...
Someone once said that if you use the Postal Service, your guitar will probably be the biggest thing on the truck, so they will notice.
HEY! This is a GUITAR!
Plus it will be cheaper, cuz I alway put around ten pounds of padding in my box. That may be Overkill!
Oh! Rededdie... Yeah, I am getting a nice collection. But now I gotta sell something to make room.
But not this week... after everyone gets their Bushie-Money. With the minor recession scare going on, it is a buyers market.
Get 'em while they're cheap! Sell 'em when they aren't!
But I LIKE all the guitars I've got! |

I once bought an old arp axe that was put in a "custom" plywood case. I sold the synth and decided that the plywood would be better than any box I could put it in. so I put some drywall screws in it and a label and off to ups I was. well guess what ? they charged me EXTRA because it was not in a paper box. if I had glued cardboard to the box it would have been 5-10 bucks cheaper to ship.
and some people just slap labels on the cases |
