As probably one of the newest owners of a 2007 Collectors I am getting sore muscles in my face from smiling so much and my fingertips are numb. Absolutley stunning colour and style....
Watto I am sorry you missed getting to play the new toy but maybe someday. |

Once the early birds wake up there will be plenty of opinions on "best looking". I predict heavy betting on adamas slotheads, custom legends and old shiny bowls. I am a little partial to this:

I think the 06C (KOA with flame maple) looks pretty damn fine as does the 5858 (angel stepped walnut) and of course the 03C (Spruce with Koa)!

I guess from Boise they'd run out of gas well before they reached the next closest signs of civilization.
Folding Convertible Hardtop does provide a small degree of protection but yes when retracted eats up trunk space. Our old one was a 2 piece top which wasn't bad. Maybe consumed 30% trunk space. The new one is a 3 piece top (just like the old shiny bowls) and retracted you lose at least 50% of the trunk. No way you could carry a set of golf clubs in the trunk with the top down unless it was a very small bag. |

Since this is about guitars, though, I can't fit a guitar in the case into either of the trunks and there's no back seat. They're my passenger. |

My TR7 had the plastic back window and I hated it. I kept it unzipped most of the time cause I could never see through it. Glass rear window is the only way to go! |

Because they're the only Ovation round-hole guitars with soundhole trim that befits the elegance of the guitar — rather than the typical gaudy plastic ring that detracts from it on every just about every other round-hole model. Sure wish it came in anything else besides a contour bowl. I swear the simple trim on economy models — even Applause — looks more "right" to me than that cheap plastic thing.
I also like all the exotic wood models, so it would be hard to pick a favorite side-holer, although my new-to-me Lusty Red 1778T is kinda like the that pretty girl next door who stands out for her natural beauty in an ocean of lipstick and eyeshadow. |

Let's never forget that Ovation was, hands down, the all-time pioneer that got acoustic out of the folkie ghetto out to rock and jazz: front-and-center, ON RECORD and ON STAGE in the hands of monster guitarists. The beautiful woodcraft here is a worthy tribute, visually, to this phenomenal "O" achievement. |

Just my opinion but I think the patriot guitars would be a hell of a lot better looking without the stupid decal. I know it's commemorative and patriotic and all that but it just seems to be that it cheapens an otherwise attractive guitar. Ovations version of Felix the Cat. |

The stencil is what makes the Patriot stand out for me. Aside from the overall quality of these guitars, the art adds a tasteful, and totally unique aesthetic to its character. IMHO it adds a touch of elegance to the appearance, it certainly does not cheapen it. I'm not trying to be contrary, I'm just pitching my tent on the other end of the opinion terrain. |

Anyone who comes into my loft and sees the various guitars hanging about, ALWAYS tend to gravitate to my 2000C (well, once they get past the Deacon 12). I know the guitar is just a repackaged Elite with some fancy bit and a lam top sort of a celebrity on steroids blah blah blah ... but ...
Check out the 6 ply binding, the beautifully bound fretboard, the incredible figuring of the rosewood board, a very elegant scroll style maple and ebony inlay, and of course the lacewood top
Really ... have you EVER seen a more beautiful fretboard. And it is smooth and plays so great ...
Forget the normal walnut Ovation bridge. On this one it is a killer piece of rosewood with figuring that matches the fretboard. Pictures don't really do it justice. It is really set off by the lacewood top ...
And speaking of the top ... it is like one of those 3D pictures you stare at and when your eyes adjust, it looks like it's an inch deep.
The headstock has a lacewood overlay that latched the top. With the gold foil logo and gold machines, it's a very nice look. I replaced the stock gold buttons with pearloids. I like 'em better.
They say that the devil is in the details. I'm still trying to figure out what this guitar top really is. This inside view of the top KILLS all of my other Ovations. Period.
So there you go. Even between the OFC and my CL12 (which has the best spruce top of ANY guitar I've ever seen), the 200C still darws all the oohs and aahs from the visitors to my guitar loft.

Its hard to describe the tone...it sounds like an Ovation, only darker.

Thanks, Catweazle, for chosing MY Koa.
And yes, for those intestereds - the guitar above is still for sale!
But I have nicer ones, that are not for sale. Never!:
