| That's true; many drummers do associate with musicians. |

| Two kinds of drummers, those with a good clock, and then all the rest..
I like drummers who keep good time, then I can just relax and play.. |

Location: New South Wales, Australia | Until a couple of years ago I'd never played with a drummer. It took a little bit of getting used to but now, when he's not there, I miss him.
Having said that, here's my 20 year old drummer boy at our gig last night showing just WHAT IS wrong with drummers :D Showing off his new tatts, wearing jeans that defied gravity all night and managed to stay up, throwing his head back and just going off. Sometimes he makes me feel quite young and other times, like the way I feel this morning, he makes me feel quite old.

TJ, don't bother calling me for help. My oldest daughter ran off with a drummer. |

Don't laugh, but right now his job is working as a pizza delivery guy. {I suppose I ought to mention he's doing that just to kill time ... he was a missile defense expert working for the Pentagon and NATO and was recently picked up by the FBI to be an agent and is just waiting for the next academy to start}. Mark ... there's hope. Women have an uncanny ability to spot and develop talents otherwise hidden to their fathers. |

Location: Wichita, KS | Both of my sons are drummers. I have to give them some credit, because I've tried sitting down at Adam's set and it's harder than it looks. Other than keeping a simple beat on the snare & hi-hat, I can't play at all. Of course, I can't really play guitar either... |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | My daughter married a drummer, too--but we were unaware of his musical proclivities when we were introduced to him. Seven years after their marriage, he and his brother own (profitably) their own auto repair business, he and Julie own their own home, have a driveway full of cars, trucks and horse trailers, three adorable children (to whom he is a wonderful, hands-on dad) and with all that's going on, his drumset is currently up in the attic at the top of their storage garage.
I'm hoping that of the three lil' folks, two will play guitar like me, and one will bang on drums like their dad--instant band. :D

Otherwise the singer wouldn't know where to stand.
(we just can't let them know it,
they're better when they're humble....) |

| Actually, most of us who have played with drummers have played with the better ones - they can count all the way to four.
The lesser drummers play waltzes and polkas. |

I've never met a drummer who was the quiet type... |

I've never met a drummer who was the quiet type... In my last band the drummer (who is an amazing drummer) was the quietest and most genuinely humble person in the band. I was gonna say that he is the exception that proves the rule, but now that I think of it, in our church's praise band, the drummers are the quietest and most affable people in the band. It's the keyboard players and singers that are trouble. |

Jazz is 10/5. Is that 70/70 in dog time? |
