Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I know I couldn't afford to be buying another guitar, but after seeing that previous guitar porn posting, and then seeing this old Custom Legend in the same burst color for the price of a Celeb, I couldn't resist snagging it for an eventual mothership makeover.

| Alright Vince! Mother'll make her look like new. Other than the finish crack she looks to be in pretty good shape. These are tone monsters. Excellent grab! Glad I could be an enabler ;) :D |

Hopefully the MS can retain that awesome burst. If it comes out near as nice as Serge's it'll definitely be a keeper.
Congrats on rescuing an ol' timer! |

Nice get. Love this guitar. She looks she is in need of a bath. Most probably just after a deep massage it will show up again. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Yeah ... I was thinking the same thing. Bad pictures can really pay off or rip off. Looking closely, it looks likes it needs a detailed cleaning, injection of superglue or finish into the crack, secure the wires (perhaps replace the electronics with something better). Oh, and those strings look like they haven't been changed in 20 years. That should pretty-much do her until a trip can be arranged to the MS. |

Location: Carle Place, NY | I rescued a similar 1619 a few years ago from eBay. The thing I like most about the guitar is the neck. It's thin and has a soft "V" profile. The neck on the newer models with the Kaman bar is nice, but those old truss rod necks I like the best. For me it's the best neck I've ever played on an acoustic. Mine had a crack in the same place. I played it for about two years before splurging on the full factory re-do. I had the top re-fininished in New England Burst and the eelectronics upgraded to OP-Pro. It's my favorite guitar.
It's really amazing how bullet-proof the guitar is. The old pre-amp worked well before I replaced it. If you don't have the money, just clean it up and have a good time. |

BTW: Congrats! I was watching that one but with the new anti-doghouse policy w/SWMBO, I decided to pass...nice grab! |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I've been a really good boy lately, but I blame this slip on lack of sleep. I got 3 calls to our fax machine in the middle of the night last night. SWMBO was at work, but I basically got 3 hours sleep. I was telling her about it over the phone, when she realized that she was responsible because she placed an order for something at work and left our fax number for confirmation. Right after that she started talking about me learning how to lay tile and I decided to lay into her instead. Dumb move. There will be some incredible "must have" guitar right around the corner and I'll be laying tile in the doghouse. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Well it came in today and after cleaning her off with furniture polish and calling Kim, she was on the UPS shipping deck within an hour. ETA to the mothership is thursday afternoon. Aside from the finish crack, broken volume/tuner knob, it looks to be in very good condition. Tuners cleaned up like new, frets are good, and that neck feels almost as thin as my viper's. Sorry I didn't have time to take a "before" picture. Serial number 236167 puts her birthday at 1981. |

I'm meeting Mike (Crimsonlake)at M.S. on Tuesday when he brings Jerome's Ovation up for TLC. I may ask if I can "See" yours if you don't mind.

Better still is, BEFORE any aquisitions, tell her not to worry about money, because her happiness comes first. :D |

I don't mind at all! I wish I lived near there, but I'd be wanting to hang out at their shop on my time off. I could see myself trying to get a job there sweeping the floors (: |
