I have found some original gold tuners to replace my
standard chrome ones on my 1981 balladeer. Assuming they fit. The Question
is is this something that is a fairly easy swap or do I need to carry it my regular repair guy? If it is a DIY operations any Tips would be helpful. I know with most any Task the second time is twice as easy as the first.

Should be a simple DIY task providing the shaft size is the same and locating screws are in the same position.
Just remove one to start with to make sure the replacement fits properly.
Be sure to use a neat fitting tube wrench or socket so as to not damage the nut and be careful not to overtighten.
