I am thinking that Alice Cooper got a bit of his looks and show from Arthur Brown and I do like both of their music and stage presence.They both came across as being crazy.
The urban legend was Arthur Brown was actually commited to a mental ward for being a Pyromaniac.

You're right - it's a myth.

Saw him several times - his backing band became Atomic Rooster and they were bloody great live.
Arthur was a real showman, but he wouldn't win any singing contests.
