I've always thought those two guys singing backup did an outSTANDing job, considering they were covering studio singers.

Don't get me wrong, Al - I've always liked him too. MD&E was a great album.

But I also thought this video was funny...

Jeff, as it happens I also watched the Belushi clip with a friend today. Haven't seen it in years, and I had to close my office door because of the laughing...

No....long story short, we got bought out by a British company (which was headed by Cocker's brother and after they "gleened" all of our knowledge they fire all the upper management and didn't even give us severance pay.

The funny part is that he sang it in tune. Little off on the lyrics, though.

I think, if you listen at the end, you see he was not slurring or falling around. An act? Sure, not unlike Dean Martin. Great song and very moving music. An interpretation probably for the benefit of the crowd which was collectively somewhere around the moon, I guess. Take a guy like Elvis. When he was zonked, his music sucked. This did not.

Can someone post the link for the Belushi thing? I've heard of it but never seen it.

I remember vaguely that Joe Cocker got really angry when he was satirized by someone on live TV... Was in SNL and Belushi or what?

Got that right...

I like Joe Cocker.
I like John Belushi, too.
Not really sure I like John Belushi doing Joe Cocker, though.

Wow now that as too dam funny, Love Joe's antics and stage presence. Love all the music. Wish I could say I was there too, but I was just a little to young.
This video did help me dredge up some memories of the old days though..... I just remembered where I hid a hit of green monster acid back in 77. Wonder if it's still there and if it has an expiration date?

Thanks for that clip. Good stuff. The music will be in my head all day long now, and that is not so bad.
For any of us old enough to have witnessed this stuff live..........we were lucky.
