Location: Flahdaw | A month or so ago, I joined the forum to ask a simple question about an old guitar. Prior to this, I was a happy old clam, living my life in complete guitar oblivion. I would pull out one of my guitars and bang around on it for awhile, then put it away.
Since that innocent question and getting involved in this evil forum, I have gone out and bought a new acoustic amp, I'm thinking of selling 2 of my guitars and getting a new one, I've visited music stores, looked at used guitars from individual sellers, dragged out my old guitars and put new strings on them, been checking out ebay and craigslist for good deals, pulled out my "book of songs" and started playing the old ones, been checking accesory items out like the Digitech Vocalist.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!!!!!? Does anyone else believe, like I do, that it's a big conspiracy on the part of the music industry to infect us with GAS. I'm trying hard to fight the disease, but I think I'm losing the battle. |

| High-five, everybody, we got us another one.
There is no cure for GAS, Darkbar. When I joined the forum a little over 2 years ago I had 2 guitars (a Matrix was one of them). Last time I counted it was 10 - and it ain't just Os and As, a couple of high-end wood boxes are in there, too.
BTW, you gonna hook up with us when Weaser is down? |

Someone should start a new thread asking how people came up with their various forum names. That would be a fun topic. Some are obvious...some are strange...and some are...well, weaser? Got to be a story there. |

| I remember those innocent times. Life was simple then. No need to find funds in clever ways, NO chasing Kids down the street for their lunch money. No need to try and hide one guitar coming in before another went out. Our just hiding one long enough for it to appear from time to time to get her used to seeing it around.
I was once Adamas free..........then Al got me on an Adamas a year habit and look at me. I check in to make sure someone is not building a collection larger than mine! It never fails.someone always is..then I am on the phone to Al again and browsing all the guitar sites and ebay. Yep.............someday you'll remember your innocent days too............ But this is much more fun!

Randy [/QB] Well, now is the time to add to a collection. Unfortunately, a lot of people have to sell stuff right now in this economy to survive, so if you have cash, the world is your oyster. I feel a little guilty taking advantage of other people's misfortune, but I guess that is life. I'll say sorry now in advance to anyone who sells me something too cheap. |

This morning I read an email from the guy who bought my 99 Collector. He isn't getting the sound out of it that he thought he would and is considering putting it up for auction. That flared up some seller's remorse. Buying it back could severely effect my health, but I'm thinking about it. GAS is a nasty disease. |

You already have O's, so don't blow Hamer money on buying back your old 99.
Hamers are crack with strings. Worse than Ovations if you can believe it. There is no end to the different sounds and styles you can get out of a Hamer, and they feel so sensous to hold. |

Congrats, you are definately one of us now!
Let's take a short look at Marketing in America:
Virginia Colony figures out that growing Tobacco will sustain the local economy. It is addictive and exportable. Smokers are also Drinkers so bring in the Rum Triangle!
Coca-Cola bottles the original recipe! It is addictive and exportable!Party!
Electrified Guitars become all the rage leading to Teens everywhere having parties, drinking, smoking and making babies (Market Potential).
A rebellious generation starts using different tunings, modulated rythyms and "Hybrid" instruments and techniques to set themselves apart! Black is the new Black, until they come up with a darker color! The young men are hyper trendy when they look and act totally unemployable. This generation will surely incite the next one to have short hair and to delite in being "responsible" just to piss their parents off!
Conspiracy, Evolution or Inteligent Design? |
