What kind of wood is that epaulet made of?
Is there such a thing as an OEM koa epaulet? |

As for OEM Koa epaulets, I'd ask Woody. |

Bet it plays nice. |

I believe that is flamed maple on the '06. The 2007 had a "spalted maple" epi, and I know that other solid wood epis have been made.
If you want any custom wood stuff for Ovations, definitely ask MWoody. |

I thought that too, had to have one. And yes it plays like a dream, slick & low action with a lovely full, warm woody tone. The glossy lowish profile ebony fretboarded neck is gorgeous.
And when it opens up, woah... |

So I'm the 4th daddy but it is pristine condition and gets loved and played. |

Would be unseemly and gauche...and I hate to exaggerate. I mean, I HATE it! More than anything in all the UNIVERSES I hate to exaggerate... It's undignified.
Ummmmmmmm...know what I mean? |

I told you a Bzillion times not to exagerate.
You can wear all the goucho's you want though, not that there's anything wrong with that!
I obviously have duped a few into thinking that I am not as big of a Hack as I really am. You can contact Customer Service and get replacement epaulets. Inlaying them would be a big undertaking though. |

I bought the first one, but he put the second one up in his "grand sale" post when he was looking to finance the Martin he bought. |

Alan,
Did you ever see what the 2006C was *supposed* to look like?
Oh, BTW I believe Al still has a couple of 14 fretters.... |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Then talk to Al about the Lost Art Vintage Koa Collector. He had at least one 14 fret model left the last I heard.
My 12 fretter has been sorely neglected lately and I even had some thoughts that I might have gone overboard when I bought it. Then I played it Sunday and those thoughts disappeared. Koa has a beautiful look, obviously, and a unique sound. Al's price is very reasonable for a new, very limited edition guitar of that quality. |

- Adamas 2080 (2 of 'em)
- Adamas 1681-5
- 1868 (really sweet travelin' guitar)
- Ultra 2071
- 2001 Collector's Edition (arriving soon)
- 1973 Custom Legend (arriving soon)
- Gretsch 6117 (hollow-body electric -- very sweet)
See? Mildly electic mix of epaulets and non-epaulets, with a bit of a leaning toward Acoustic/Electric. |

Which model is that Gretsch? My buddy has a White Falcon that is just awesome. |
