We have a show on down here each week called The New Inventors.

Tonight they featured the Stereo Acoustic Guitar which directs a stereo sound towards the player, rather than a mono sound out to the listeners as is the case with most acoustic guitars.

Check it out:

Side-mounted soundports are nothing new. Adding a huge extension to the body so 2 ports can be placed at a greater distance, and calling it a "stereo" guitar is stretching a point (No pun intended) It also demonstrates a basic misunderstanding of the terms "mono" and "stereo" in this context. I'll pass. If I want a good recording of an acoustic guitar there are numerous stereo microphone techniques that work perfectly well with conventional instruments.

You could just plug your Ovation in, and put on Headphones... But that would be too simple.
