Location: Utah | Katie is the former bandmate of my daughter from Scarlet Lace. Katie got a nice spot on the Saturday morning local news with her guitar. She also sang as they faded to commercial breaks.

Location: Utah | Unfortunately it is at the very least a temporary end to Scarlet Lace. The girls still keep their Scarlet Lace myspace page active and sell a few CDs, but they don't play together at all anymore. Their boyfriends are mortal enemies, and they're all teenagers so the drama level is quite high. I think that they are each developing enough stuff away from Scarlet Lace that they aren't likely to ever get back together as their main focus, though there was a real synergy that exceeded their individual talents when they were together.
Sara has a solo thing going right now, but she is not putting as much effort into it as Katie. Sara has a bunch of new songs but no good recordings. She is playing shows every two weeks on average, and she is performing in a concert with the Radical Grace Band next Saturday (the church band I'm in), as well as doing a solo set and also doing a song with another band there (ByNow). Music is important to her, but in the context of boyfriends.
Katie has a lot of drive. Her mom is a successful businesswoman and Katie has picked up on the concept of self promotion and goal oriented work. With her talent and her great voice she will go far in music if she sticks with it.

From Scarlet Lace I particularly liked " Low cover ".
Sara reminds me of Ricky Lee Jones.

Katie and her O on the local news
