Location: Boise, Idaho | I know it sounds like I'm obsessing. Fine. My daughter is graduating from University of Portland in May and has a house rented from the University that I think would be ideal for a gathering. She agrees. It's on a bluff overlooking the river with acres of empty land. The nearest neighbors are a few hundred feet away. Both houses are also rented to students. She's in the house until August.
We're having a graduation party for her and her roommates on May 4. That's what made me think of this.
If anyone is interested in another NW gathering and is looking for a place for it, this would be ideal. Parking might be a bit of a problem, but the campus isn't too crowded in the summer.
Of course, if you'd all like to come to Idaho this year, that option is always good for me. |

You really think something like that would work?
We'd need a keg.

I don't recall any of those invisible screen doors on the house, so we'll have to find some other form of entertainment for you. |

But i'm interested. Unfortunately, i had to miss the one at Miles' last year.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I'll try to get some dates and let you know, except for Moody and Jeff. I'll give them a different date, so if they show up it will be after she moves out in August. The rest of the NW group I trust, maybe wrongly, but we'll let the police handle it if you get out of hand.
For right now, let's see if there's any interest in the location. If I end up picking dates that don't work for others, then someone else can figure out what to do. |

My daughter attended one of these at gh1's house, although I was a bit concerned about her hanging out with a bunch of dirty old men. Everyone was very well behaved, at least until we left. That was probably her frame of reference when she agreed to host this one.
Arthur, you don't have to wear a cast, but please wear a shirt. |

And it is only a couple of blocks off the TriMet 20 route Arthur :)

Somehow my daughter has managed to do well in school, despite spending her senior year in what everyone acknowledges is a great party house. We just thought it would nice to have a(nother) party there before she has to give it up. |

Arthur, I couldn't play a song to save my life but they keep letting me show up for these things.
I promise to wear a shirt, as well. |

If she lives out this direction, we'd gladly trade sitting jobs for pocket change. I suspect NY would pull way ahead on the culture-factor, though. ;-) |

Al, in west coast argot they're not 'bims', they're 'uncomlpicated'.

Let me know when it will be and I'll do my best to be there. Is she going down to the WCC tournament in Vegas. UP's doing pretty well this year. My household are all Zag fans (Me, my wife and 3 of my daughters graduated there in various years).
The UP area is nice. I can usually find my way around, unlike the west side where I am normally lost. |

Daughter's not going to the WCC. She thought this year UP would beat the Zags for once, but no such luck. Graduation is May 4. Maybe everyone should just bring their guitars over and crash the graduation party. |

The only available weekend we have to go over to Portland in June is the 20th and 21st, but that's the weekend before we leave for Colorado. My daughter will be in Montreal from July 1 to midAugust, so that takes her house out as a possible site. If you guys in Seattle or Portland want to throw something together, it's in your court. I guess that would be a pass rather than a punt. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | You would bump the one with the punkin butt reference. I'd love to get over there this summer, but our daughter is in Montreal and then the Portland relatives are coming over here for a reunion in mid August. Hard to believe that the summer is half over, or that just a year ago we were jamming at Miles' place. |

I'm going to order materials for another deck at the cabin, so if anyone wants to come over and help build a deck, we could sit on it and jam. |

Free works for me... but a Heferweisen or Belgiun (Belch'n?) brew is good.
I'll PM any serious takers. |

That one's probably older. Actually dance cards were used by a woman to record with whom she will dance each successive dance at a formal ball. They appear to have originated in 18th century. 'Dime a dance' hostesses are from the early 1920s-30s. 'Buddy, can ya spare' written in 1931. |
