I have used them some time ago, they give a bit brighter sound to the guitar but I didn't own an Ovation then. But I'm sure they will do the same on the Ovations.
I found them to be a little easier on the fingers but I didn't really take to them. Back then my favorite strings were the Diamond Brand.

I tried the John Pearce silk bronze and they were OK... the bass seemed a bit muddied. They do not seem to have the ring of phospher bronze but appear somewhat brighter than the martin silk/steel. I have a new favorite though, john pearce slightly light phospher bronze 11-50. The have a full sound and play well. We'll have to try them out for a few weeks to see how the last.
