The new "Top Sites" feature is pretty cool.
However Dave, I assume you are using a Mac exclusively now, so your version and experience will be different no doubt. |

- integration of HTML 5 and CSS 3 web standards
- improved engine executes JavaScript up to 30 times faster than IE 7
- loads HTML web pages 3 times faster than IE 7
- Top Sites display feature
- Tabs On Top display feature
Like I said, it could be all "spew", but I'll download it on Friday when I get home and give it a look. |

They don't mention so much how they stack up against Firefox. If you read into their press release they finally say "Java engine 3x faster than Firefox and HTML loads 3x faster". Needs to be proven.
Seems like a lot of IE users have been switching to Firefox recently. |

Working flawlessly to this point. It's fast. Pretty frigging remarkable for Beta.
Top Sites is great as is Cover Flow. Bookmarks features are very good |

Location: Texas | I have used Firefox for years, finally updated to the latest (Mac) version. It crashes several times a day, a highly unusual occurrence for any program on my Mac. It may be due to one of the many plug-ins I've installed, but I haven't isolated the problem yet. So, I am certainly tempted to give Safari another try… |

Location: closely held secret | I've played with Safari4. Very pretty, but leaves a lot to be desired as far as functionality compared to FF.
Particularly annoying was having to 'customize' the toolbar just to add a button for the home page. And there's no refresh button. |

you should try these too, quicker and quickest:

Safari 4 is nice, but not quite there yet. |

I didn't know you were a Mac person ...until now! Nice...
One more thing though, you have to be in Leopard to take advantage of many new tweaks... |

Other than having to adopt some new "browsing impulses" to leverage the new bits... ahhh, never mind... |

Any suggestions?
I had been using FF 3.0.2 but is started crashing several times an hour so I moved to the Beta.

Location: Utah | Safari Beta is fine, but I guess I don't really see any big functional or speed changes. At least in terms of the basic forums and browsing. Maybe if I was doing complicated stuff or gaming.
The tab thing, actually I dislike it across the top. It's too far away. It was better lower down, below the main header rather than above it.
I'll keep it, though. Works fine for what I do. |

I tried FF 3.0.7 and it too crashed constantly. It must be my machine, but I don't know what it would be. I recently reformatted the hard drive and have a fresh copy of XP w/ all the SP's installed.
Other than not being able to use Hotmail under the beta release, I love it. Right now I go to Outlook to read my Hotmail. Kind of a pain, but it works.
