Yup, I'm a NooB. (and I'm not # 7000 :( ) :)
I did a search but I want to be sure I don't waste money. I wanna buy a floor stand for my Balladeer. I have an old stand (70's) but the rounded back keeps it from fitting in the stand.
What is a good floor stand that is not too big? (for to keep in a living room)
Thanks in advance.
FYI - I'm not a good player but I coulda' been if I didn't take 9 years of accordion lessons as a kid. :) |

Don't get the one with the fold out rest, like this one...

The first one pictured is great for the roundbacks
The second one is great for Breadwinners/Deacons or any of the O solid bodies

I have a few "On Stage" stand that O's fit on no problem. I think they may be a little less expensive if that is a concern. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | The Hercs are excellent, but they also stick up off the ground a foot higher than those that cradle the neck in lieu of hanging from the headstock. In tight spaces, this might be risky. I bought a carton of heavy duty A-frame stands at a guitar store liquidation auction with long cradle arm supprts that work excellent for the deep bowls. The A-frames generally available on the Internet don't appear to be quite as heavy duty, but their cradle supports could probably be bent and extended to closely fit the deep bowl shape if necessary. |

I just have three Stagg stands that I got for $15 or so (each) from the local b&m store.
Nothing fancy and they work fine.... (for Ovations and electrics)
[Plus one Wal-mart stand for $9.98 that I wouldn't recommend :p ] |

Location: United States | I'm sorry muzza. I guess I was referring to BT717 and the On Stage stands. (it was morning time...and I lost an hours sleep this weekend) :)
footprints - I apologize for not knowing what an OFC page is or where to find it. I'd love to see your handiwork though.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I guess there are quite a few options after all. |

Location: United States | yup, it's quite big footprints. I saw it using
your link above. Seems like a nice idea. It's
quite prototype looking at this point. Having an
'O' shape on the bottom could be quite appealing
to Ovation owners. |
