Any suggestions as to what guitar stores and/or places of interest are worth visiting.
I have done the Universal, Disneyland thing before.
TIA

Location: Central Massachusetts | Well, if you're up for a trek, Joshua Tree National Park is pretty unique. Or a drive up and around Lake Arrowhead and/or Big Bear Lake. Those would be pretty big trips.
Or head for San Diego and check out the Wild Animal Park, the Zoo, Sea World, Coronado Beach. Also pretty big trips.
Santa Monica Pier? HollyWeird/Sunset Strip/House Of Blues Sunday brunch (may have to buy tickets in advance)
Skydiving in Hemet/Perris? lol.
I'm sure some of the locals could turn you on to some more interesting local flavor. I wasn't there long enough to assimilate. I spent 14 months there and most of that was trying to figure out how to get the hell out. ;-)
Have a great trip, whatever you end up doing! |

Just what Obama needed. An end to the recession is in sight.

Universal Studios has a tour. Another all-day venture is to take the Amtrak to Old Town in San Diego. |

If you want to do a road trip, try going north up the coast through Malibu, Ventura (bring your America CD), and into Santa Barbara. Check out the downtown and the Mission. |

Seriously, if you're coming in on Sunday, you're probably going to be tired that day. Kick back and relax. You're going to have Monday and Tuesday here, then fly out on Wednesday. Not really enough time to go to south to San Diego (great trip tho'). I assume you're renting a car? If so, spend Monday going up to Hollywood and hit the Guitar Center, and other various music stores on Sunset. Then I'll meet you along with Bobbo in the late afternoon. We'll go to McCabes and then get some dinner.
Tuesday, drive up to Santa Barbara and Solvang. They're about 1 - 1 1/2 hours north of you. Great for wondering around and relaxing. Then you're off on Wednesday, relaxed and ready to get arrested at the waffle house on the island..... |

Just get up when the sun is up, go to bed just after the sun goes down. On the first day, spend as much time as you can in the sun to reorient your body. Then on day two do stuff.
I have to agree, for me San Diego and San Fran are fun, though, I've never had the desire or need to go to LA and never been there so I can't comment. |

Location: Jet City | For brand new Ovations, I have yet to see a store with a selection that beats Music Power in San Diego. I needed a couple cables when I was down there for my Grandmother's service and was floored when I saw new USA models including 2 Custom Elites, a Custom Legend, 2 County Artists and a Folklore even. Not to mention a 2080 Adamas.
I highly recommend them, at least for Os and As. |

Actually, I was thinking that we ought to go to the local heart attack haven here on the west side, Johnnie's Pastrami.
I know we're 3000 miles west of the real stuff, but this little 50's style sandwich joint is Zagat rated.
No fruits, nuts, or flakes at Johnnie's.
And Moody, bring your wallet. It's a cash only place. |

I used to live on the 7th St. which is very close to 3rd Std Promenade and Santa Monica Pier.
Eventhough there isn't a big guitar store there, the weather, food, stores, beach and etc are all great . . .
BTW, Thai food at Thai Town isn't far from the guitar stores in Hollywood. . . . highly recommend :D |

you just have to drive a cab there for 50 years or so until you get discovered.GWB |

How many times have you seen me play AJ's brocolli? I don't care how good they sound - they look ridiculous.
I'll bow out of the conversation now. Broccoli is my 'rant' subject. |
