That's a nice necklace.

I didn't know who she was until last summer when my niece came over and watched her show. It was one step away from pedofilia but presented by Disney. Probably a big money maker, but weird.

Is this some of that artist endorsement we've been pining for the last couple of decades? I'm doing my best to keep my daughter away from the merchandising machine that is Hannah Montana, but this beats the snot out of the SEVEN guitar!

Now this is an excellent marketing ploy, if Fender/Kaman/Ovation had anything to do with it. She has, what, half the world of pre-teens watching her every move? Nothing better than for them to see her holding a top shelf Adamas.

If Kaman didn't have anything to do with it, they better make something out of it. I agree with Patch. She's money.

Brandon Jane, a girl i used to play guitar for and still sometimes write with did a short TV tour with her. Goood Morning America etc. Brandon mostly was there to sing backup but also played some keyboards and guitar. The gig payed really well and she was offered a spot on her national tour but she was starting work on a new cd and also working with her sister in their new band and had to pass.

The marketing at Walmart stores alone is unreal.

I guess any publicity is good publicity ...

Although I have to wonder how many adult males will want to be seen playing a "Hannah Montata" guitar.

Will Adamas guitars, gay epaulets and all, now be known as 'chick' guitars? Melissa E., Kaki King, Hannah Montana ... Will they give Daisy Rock a run for their money.

Dear God, where is Bernie Williams when we need him.

Best Ovation marketing score since The Partridge Family! ;-) ...and she wears it like a fashion accessory, not unlike David Cassidy.

Porp Man disapears for a couple miniutes. Comes back and say "Will this cheap plastic one do"?

If she trying move away Hannah Montana its time for a real Guitar. I would try to get her as an endorcer and pronto.

Better Yet get here and Billy Ray as endorcers.
Then a father daughter limited edition.

Actually, if it really was a prop and not her's, it was likely well thought out and chosen for it's unusual looks. I knew an advertising prop mistress...

I also knew a "food artist" from my days singing for McDonalds. But that's another bizarre story.

With the guitar tilted up at an angle like it is, you wouldn't see any knobs...could be a two knobber for that matter...the amount of glitter around the top makes me think it's earlier than later...

BTW, since this is Billboard, not many are going to see the pic unless it becomes part of a publicity campaign (Kaman/Fender HELLOOOO...WAKE UP...)

[Shows when the last time I read Billboard... I think a review of an Alice Cooper or Jethro Tull concert]

The photo part of the movie/CD about to be a released on April 10th.
Who knows maybe its in the movie as well.

Its not in the trailer just a Gibson
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkbK2CFibew
The Highly ornate Gibson is music vid for the first single and in the trailer.

I am somewhat surprised they didn't use the gibson in the photo shoot.

Dave, thanks for this news: I think it's possibly the best news for Kaman in the past several years...this could be huge...
and yes, the value of Adamas guitars could be influenced in a very positive way!

Dave: Remember it was probably Glen and Nancy who provided the most coverage for the Adamas in the 70s - so a girl endorsement works...are the Jonas Brothers next?...I've only seen them play Gibsons. I have an 11 year old daughter who loves Miley...my daughter plays guitar - now she's going to want one of her own...like playing #43 around the house isn't good enough....for a while I thought I was going to have to buy her a Gibson hummingbird since Miley played one here on tour...

Nah, too damned easy.

JM (oddly enough, I have a friend who also goes by 2 first names John Mark, so I'll address you the way I address him and keep the clutter in my brain to a minimum) you have got to get your pics of your guitars back up. The natural back Viper and the Custom Legend (mid depth bowl?) are just stunning guitars.....

Hey folks... My daughter just received the Miley Cyrus / "Hannah Montana The Movie" soundtrack for a birthday gift.

Take a look at what is now shown in the CD jewel case.

CD Booklet Cover
CD case inner artwork, under CD

The wide pattern wood grain appears to have been "photoshopped" on the original black Adamas I as previously shown on the Billboard Magazine cover.

My wife had taken her to the movie when it was in the theater. She never mentioned to me if they actually used the Adamas guitar in the movie.

Probably the black Adamas was photoshopped. I've never seen grain like that used by Ovation.

On the small chance that it's not a photoshopped picture then I would have to be a prototyped 1537 super elite. But I suspect that it's the black Adamas....

It's a slot head. So either a real rare guitar or a photoshop job for the ages.

Look again, Bobbo. It's a broccoli head like the Adamas I. The girl's pose and position of the guitar are exactly the same in this pic as in the one originally posted, so I'd have to put my money on just the guitar top's being shopped. Good job of it, 'tho, except for the crazy grain that only we anal retentives would notice. Whatever, it's still a great endorsement of O/A for the young crowd!

It's a broccoli head. I suppose the wood could be swamp ash or maple. Was it photoshopped? I can't tell.

Uh... Shouldn't that wood be book-matched? Or at least have the grain longitudinal to the strings?

So, some photo geek doesn't understand the allure of a textured black top.
Not feminine enough...

The top grain is not quarter sawn...Look again at the original pic at the start of this thread. Same fingerboard. Plus this photshopped guitar has a black bowl versus the brown painted ones on the 1537's.

Well done by the graphics dept. My daughter recognized it as an Ovation guitar just the same. .. Talbot

by the way, it does look photoshopped, just look at that wheat field she's standing in and the size of the sun ... it's like it's from a disney movie or something.

Photoshopped notwithstanding... They're similar, but different, poses.

Similar but no cookie...

Al's proto and this guitar have very different Epi's...

Also Al's has no grain coloration like this one...

I would vote Photoshop...

They're both photoshopped...
Both from the same studio photo session - same blouse, same backlighting - overlaid on different backgrounds.
Looks like they just replaced the Adamas top (they left the eppi's and bridge) with a shot of shop-grade plywood from the Home Depot website...

...then again, I just noticed on the Ovation website that you can get a 1581 or 1687 in figured redwood...
