Location: Huntington Beach | If you have read this thread "what would you do? good guitar not as described" I won't repeat the details here. Briefly - guitar significantly not as described dispute through paypal and closed in my favor with return and refund. Received a 1986 Collectors today purchased through ebay that claimed a slight imperfection in the top that turned out to be a loose brace with the face caving in. Contacted the seller and he said send it back for a full refund. Some people are reasonable though delusional. Some people are delusional and quite unreasonable. Maybe I should not buy my guitars site unseen or at least with a return provision. Thoughts? |

For an SSB it has a very tidy sound.
I also had a dispute on Fleabay on the very same subject which was for a Celeb 0028 very much 'Made in China' with loads of defects. Not nearly like yours though. :(
Got my lucra back but had to pay for the return shipping to the dishonest little twerp.
On a good note, I have bought three O's from Fleabay and I am very happy with them, One from the US and two from the UK, luck of the draw I suppose.
What about a Mothership repair?

I've had FAR TOO MANY Ovations/Adamas shipped over from the US and all but one was OK. It was an Adamas that the top had CAVED in. The seller refunded me and even paid the return shipping, perhaps because I didn't really give him an option.
If the sale meets the criteria then you can always lodge a complaint with Ebay/Palpal and let them bash the seller over the head. It's worked for me in the past (seller didn't ship item and then didn't respond to my mails).
And remember : let's be careful out there, Caveat Emptor! |

I always pay with a credit card, as my company WILL get the money back.
A seller with integrity is honor-bound to pay for return shipping if the instrument isn't as described. The point: not all sellers have that integrity. Bottom line: better to eat the cost and send it back if it's cheaper than being stuck with a bad guitar.
Thus endeth the rant. |

In the evolution of mankind we are now communicating face unseen, voice unheard, flesh unfelt and with personality, prejudice and bias greatly removed from the interaction. Yet with greater humanity. Paradoxical, ain't it? |

Where personality, prejudice and bias are absent I beleive we tend to bring our own. |

Location: Round Rock, TX | I've bought and sold more than a few guitars, as well as other gear, on eBay with only one significant headache. That was from a buyer. For me, it's all about feedback and a stated return policy. I don't care how much I want the guitar, if the seller doesn't have a lot of strong feedback, as a seller, and an acceptable return policy, I ain't bidding. |
