in my search for a second Ovation it's been difficult. what model(bla bla bla)so on.
now here's what im looking for.a shallow or super
shallow bowl this guitar will be playe'd plug in.
color:natural wood (beige/W epaulette)
model:cut away similar model to my Elite LX
can be:collector edition/vintage or not
made:in U.S.A.
hardware: gold if possible

Shallow : 1993 Collector
I've had both - great guitars and both available for $500. In my opinion - get the 93c! |

Location: GA USA | Flag, I've got an 1868, similar to the S868, in sunburst. One thing I'd say about that guitar is that you can play it unplugged with no apologies. I expected a "plugged in" guitar and got a great sounding ssb acoustic, to my delight. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Here's a couple more options, although they may be next to impossible to find as they are both protptypes. . . on the left is an Adamas SSB, natural finish wood top, original FET preamp, made in 1982, and on the right, a 1547 SSB prototype from 1984. These guitars are remarkably similar in color, finish and tone. Their differences are headstock name (Adamas v. Ovation), one has a cutaway (1547), and the Adamas has the orginal FET whereas the 1547 has an Op24. The fret markers are also different. The color and finish on the wood tops, necks, and fretboards are very similar. Both have brown bowls. Few of these are floating around out there, so if you ever come across one, jump on it.

Location: Chehalis, Washington | The 1868 will do the trick, or either of the one's Dweezil has here. You'll be very happy with one of those for a stage guitar. I played an 1868 (ssb custom legend) for years, and I really did not ever lack for stage presence and tone with that guitar. And it even sounded spectacular unplugged.
Other choice is an 1881 Adamas II texture top, though you've just jumped price by a few hundred... |

Location: Colorado | I love my 1881. Of course, it's the only guitar I own. I do wish it was the -NB2 (red) though. It's comfortable to play (I play sitting down mostly), and the acoustic projection is awesome. And plugged in will not disappoint you either. Man, I need an amp...
