When I went to the 'Northwest Mini-Gathering' at gh1's (Greg's) house there was a blue one that I played.
Y'know that really yucky blue that only looks good on an Adamas.
I was dumber then, so I do not know the model.
I said back then... "I gotta get me one of these!"
I kinda wanted to get the yucky Reverse Blue Burst, but I will take what I can get. |

…I couldn't find the thread, but didn't you recently say that you hadn't paid over $800 for any of your guitars? It's so heartwarming to see someone achieve a personal best… ;)
…and. again, my memory is not dependable, but isn't that your first Adamas?
You're King of the World!!!!
Enjoy It, but PLEASE don't cut holes in that one… ;) |

I'll take a black topped Adamas over any of the bursts.
On the other hand, the absolute LAST color I'd choose for a wood topped guitar would be black.
And Doc.... good to hear from ya. |

OMA, as the WESB\'s would say, you're RURNT now. |

It's not really yucky. Decide for yourself.

And -- yes, but you don't have to play it :)

gh1 Just found out last night that my daughter has a lead on a summer job--in Quebec. Although I'd love to use her house for a party this summer, I'd rather see her get the job. Maybe no PNW gathering there, but there are plenty of other available places. I'll be up there the first weekend of May, staying close to where gh1 and sligoman live. Maybe I'll find some time between graduation ceremonies to get in touch. You could all come over and play for her graduation party on May 3. |

What is that fretboard made outta? Walnut?
Any care and feeding tips of that kind of fretboard that anyone can recommend?
What should I use, or more importantly what Shouldn't I use to clean the top?
[It has sludge or maybe human-oil around the bridge and where people rest their pinky]
Should I toss a Herco humidifier can into the case, at least for the fretboard?
Any other pointers? |

Location: Sydney, Australia | It's resin impregnated walnut, which I guess means they've filled it up with some liquid gunk that goes nice and hard. Otherwise you'd wear through the fretboard in a year or so. I just use mineral oil.
The top is tough as nails, it's just a matter of staying away from harsh abrasives or something that will leave a residue. Mildly damp cloth seems to be the favourite, a Mr Big t-shirt for the ultimate in cool.
Adamas will be more resistant to humidity variation, but it's good to keep it in the right range. Where I live never gets too dry so it's not a worry. |
