I just got a new OVATION CELEBRITY DELUXE CC44, IT IS A BEAUTIFUL GUITAR. BLUE BURST QUILTED MAPLE, ABALONE BINDING, AWESOME. The problem is that I am getting a buzzing noise that I think is fret vibration, what can I do about it? I am really bummed  I love this guitar but I want it to play right. I had an Ovation before this and never had any problems with it. Please help.

Take it back where you bought it and have them adjust it or replace it.

Try tightening down all of the nuts around the tuners and see if the buzzing goes away. Another thing could be one of the preamp wires rattling again the bodt. Report back. We'll help you run it down.

EDIT: OR, just listen to Dave. ;)

The frets should not vibrate. Like the man said, check the tuna nuts and the wires inside.
Check string relief...
Or just send it back.

Another culprit can be the battery, try taking it out and see if the problem goes away.

Tighten the screws that hold the pre-amp in position and arrange the wires between premp and pickup so they dont touch the soundboard. That did the trick on my celebrity. The fixation of the batteri cover on the OP-20 don't seem that well designed and secure from a mechanical point of view so this cover is also likely to vibrate and give buzzing noises in the cavity. Generally having a technician/luthier at shop where you purchased the guitar is best but you can help him/her by mentioning some possible causes.

In this case it was the underside of the fingerboard buzzing against the top - but I've also had problems with the bracing on every celebrity I've owned. The build quality on korean celebrities just isn't the same as the USA built ones but after I'd done the couple of 'repairs' I've been more than happy with them.

That thing with the bluetack (shown in the pictures) is good for finding strange buzzes - if you can get your and inside you can stick it against the various bits till you isolate where the buzz is coming from.

If the action is too low, the strings may be buzzing against the frets. From easiest to most time-consuming things to try, is the guitar tuned to pitch? If it's tuned significantly lower, slack strings will start buzzing at some point. Did you tighten the truss rod, possibly introducing some back-bow to the neck? If so, loosen it to see if the problem disappears. If you had low action with medium-gauge strings and then put extra lights on, the reduction in string tension will also lower the action, possibly to the point of string buzzing. And finally, did you remove any shims from under the saddle? If so, put at least one back in and see if that helps.

Thanks for all the help. I tightened everything and the buzzing got better, however it was still there. I took it to a guitar tech and he measured the action and it was all messed up,he is fixing it tommorrow. I will have it back tommorrow night. I will let you know what happens. Thanks ;)
