Second, a possible swine flu pandemic.
If "things always come in 3's", anyone want to hazard a guess as to what's next.
(or was there one I missed and swine flu IS #3?) |

But just in case, if I shipped you anything in the 2 weeks be sure to rinse it off first and wash your hands often!
Let's see:
Adamas to Thailand
FD-14 to France
A check to Florida
How do these epidemics get around, anyhow? |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | I was in Asia during SARS times, and I had no problems. In fact, it was an opportunity for cheap airfare, accomodations, have the run of musuems, people were actually happy to see americans, because we were spending money...
I already noticed that the flights to Europe have been reduced. Knock off another 5th and I'm traveling again. I hope everyone gets scared like ... chickens. It's opportunity!
First time I started doing this disaster traveling wasafter a hurricane struck Cancun, then the next trip was renting a villa in Croatia six months after the war, let's see then their was the terroist bombing in Bali, yes I booked my trip right after it ...
So I'm hoping it gets worse. |

planner. Note were the clusters are, monitor the prices and then pounce.
It looks like in the states the places to go will be New York and San Diego. Europe looks like Barcelona, and in Mexico, of course it's Mexico City. I'm hoping it goes to Paris. |

If there are 305 Million people in the USA and 10,000 people get the flu...
Or even if 100,000 people get the flu...
Is that really a problem?
[I just had a nasty chest/head cold or flu for about the last three days.]
Lot's of people died during the last 'no-name' flu season.
Lot's of people die Every flu season!
But that isn't in today's news cycle.
A few Million people have lost their jobs in the last few months... That is a Problem. |

It's easy to dismiss the current media and public frenzy about Swine Flu as just "sensationalism", until you consider that the first few dozen cases of Black Plague or HIV were probably met with similar reactions. |

Just to bring this back on topic, I think the buying of Ovation Guitars is more of a pandemic than 'Swine Flu' is
Apparently 36,000 people died of Influenza in the US last year. And we were not advised against travelling to the US then
'Swine flu' is a serious illness that can kill but so are other flu's. And we have way, way more ways to contain infectious diseases these days. Bubonic plague for example is caused by bacteria and therefore is susceptible to antibiotics. |

Actually, to bring this back on topic....swine flu was #2. We're past that one. What's next? (funny answers are best, "Bea Arthur" winning so far. Anyone else think Weaser's brain works in mysterious ways?) |

...hands down, the funniest reply post this month. Some humor just doesn't translate well--even from English to American. I don't think Karl understood why the German word "fahrt" is funny to Americans. It was funny trying to explain what a fart was, though. |
