Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I am considering an Elite T, 2058T...
This is a 12-String T, but it only comes in a Contour Bowl.
I like the idea of a 12-String T, but I have never played a contour.
I could just play it for awhile, and if I don't like it send it back in 30 or 45 days (depending on where I get it from)...
But I would like to get a discount USO before they all become "MIK's"
So... What I am really asking is Opinions on Contour Bowls.
[I already did a Search and didn't really find a satisfactory answer.]
But a USO 12 with an OP-Pro with a Warranty for $600 sounds real good.
[A 12-String with a TUNA! ]
[Be nice if it came as a straight mid-depth like my other T's]
Please let me know before they are all Gone. |

Location: Tennessee | I'd get a contour bowl just to have a contour bowl. If this is the one with the texture finish and maple neck, the contour is the only way to go. The latest and the greatest of the newest and the coolest when the end came and all that. |

Location: closely held secret | Now that I have an O with a contour bowl (did I say thank you?) I find I'm getting used to it. Playing seated I don't really notice it, but it's taking some time to become accustomed to the guitar not rolling up like the round bowls. Good thing I don't look at my hands much, or I'd break my wrist trying to twist the darn thing up.
That's a great deal, Art. Go for it. I was looking at the 2058T, but the only one I could find was in Australia, so I bought the 6758LX. |

And Yes! They were listed at $599.
Come Monday, the suckers were All Gone.
Today I went to Apple Music, and HELD (not played) an FKOA contour.
(I was coming from work, and although my hands are clean, they have stain on them, and I didn't want the sellers to freak-out over their $1800 guitar!)
Anyway... Now they are back up to $659, which ain't bad, but nobody has any!
Vewwy Vewwy Angwee!
[Maybe it's for the best, but I got bad GAS!] |

They had ten... But they were Gone lickity-split.
So I got one of these comin'!
Now I'm gonna hafta sell something... Anybody wanna buy a CC255? Don't think I will be needed it anymore... :D |

The Ovation website sez OP-Pro... The photos show OP-Pro... The listing sez OP-30...
Either/Or.... I have two 1778T's, one with the 'Pro, one with the '30.
I kinda like the OP-30. I don't record or play live. But I can change the flavor with a push of a button.
Whichever one is on it is okay with me.

It is unusual!
It is the last of the USO Elite T's!
It is a Contour...
And it is a 12-String with a durn TUNA! :D |

| I just called about one of these.. and it's matching 6 string sibling.. if these are part of the blowout deals, will be my first NEW O's
I really like the lx neck on the Q, and the lower weight..
I seem to always get rid of my K-bars...
too heavy at least in my opinion..
and the refurbed 1537 weighs a ton compared to my tr necks and the older O's..
and a pair of these in Natural with op pro and deep contour will be a great set of workhorses that I'm sure will sound great. and be a lot lighter...
carpal tunnel in my left is eating me up lately, so have been only playing the lighter ones...
and if I could remember to pick them off the rack with my right, I wouldn't keep aggravating the wrist, but I'm lefty that plays righty.. and naturally reaches for them to pick them up left handed...
like the Dr. Said..... "Don't do that",,
If I had room for a Gracie, I'd be using it.

So They Got MORE! Apparently I was Wrong!!
I came home to a message telling me that they cannot get me one, cuz this is a "Discontinued Item"...
[And they are drop-shippers, so they didn't really have one in the first place! ]
So I called them and told them to give me my money back, which they did immediately (pay pal).
I found someone else off of the Ovation Homepage "Buy it" button.
But they are on the east coast, so I couldn't talk to them. But they still have it listed, whereas GC, MF, 123, (and the rest of the alphabet) don't list them anymore.
So I just ordered it (pay pal again) and sent them an email asking them to verify that they still have one. So I will find-out tomorrow when I get home from work.
This is getting annoying... |
