I found this on a local craigslist and I am not sure if this is a good model compared to the newer models. asking price is 500.00 is this worth checking into or should I go for a newer contour gs body light weight design?

Go play it and see if you like it. If it's in good shape it's well worth $500.

I had one several years ago and my son has it now. A lovely guitar with great tone, but try it if you can.

If the neck looks good go for it. There was one local by me that was in almost new condition but the neck had a pretty severe neck dip that would have required a reset at the mothership.

You wonder if a deep bowl, A braced Ovation with a ton of bling is as good as the newer models?

Better.....

An older custom legend is sort of a "tradional" Ovation sound. If that's the kind of sound you like, then it's a good guitar for you.

Does the 1719 30CM fall under the traditional sound?
