Well after selling off all my guitars and my 1980's Viper and 2005 LX and not even touching a guitar since I am back with a Ovation Applause AE148.

Much cheaper than my LX and with a shallow bowl but a way to re-enter the Ovation world again.

Just wanted to say a warm hello to all again.

Welcome Mike. Any story worth telling that made you sell off all the guitars?

Thank you all. Why did I sell my guitars???? Well I got burned out and just overwhelmed I guess and I talked myself out of playing anymore. But I am back and my old Elite LX 6778 is still on the picture boards here! I was happy to see her again but sadened in the same sense. Can't wait til I get the time to play again for sure. Gonna not overwhelm myself with it and just have fun. Lanaki what a story! I hope the reunion was a happy one and Weaverville has certainly changed I am sure since 1978. I have been here since 2001 from a job transfer and love it. We now have the biggest shopping center in Buncombe County being built just down the road from us by Hwy. 19/23 or I-26 as it is referred to now. Hope everyone has a great day!

Now hold on here, Mike, are you actually Lanaki's father????

Every once in a while, I get the urge to sell guitars. I often think of the minimum number I could live with and which guitars it would be. But I'm lucky in the my wife knows how much I love my small collection and how each one is special.

Mike, glad you're back playing again. Music has given me so much in my life. The thought of walking away from it just makes me cringe......

Go to the Fiddle & Pig tomorrow and see the WhiteWaterBleuGrassCompany. Debanjo will be there.
See you there.

Holy Moly!!! Someone nearby! We do need to get together. My playing is rather off but I am looking forward to getting back into it. Drop me a line sometime.

Mike, GO. Don't wait for maybe doing it sometime soon.

Do you know what kind of invites you've just received or from whom?

I assume some of the best players around for sure and way too good for my fumbling fingers to ever sit down with. My only problem in making plans is that I am on-call 365 days a year almost in my job for the entire state and never know if I am coming or going.

I need to start practicing again for sure because i can't remember a single chord right now...LOL!

I would love to get together if I don't get called out to get tips from the veterans for sure. I am just a beginner even after 1.5 years of lessons. I have to do things when I have time.

My only regret in life is that I never took lessons when I was young so playing a guitar would be second nature. I played the trumpet for a few years but wished the guitar would have graced my hands.

Guys I hope some meeting can be had. I will stay in touch on these boards for sure. In fact I look at these boards daily while at my office when I get a break. Like now......but don't let my employer know!
