Which is....im getting a slight vibration/buzzing out of the top of the guitar...i own a celebrity shallow bowl/roundback? acoustic/electric.. i think its coming from where the tuner/pre-amp fits in...i took the insert tuner out and it helped for about a week..(or it coulda just been a fluke) it seems to happen more if the guitar is tilted back towards me. (like sitting on a couch) it stops if i push on the top of the guitar, and i only hear it from the top two strings ( 5th and 6th) (or E, and G) i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem.... if its an easy fix, or i should just take it to the shop??? someone help?!?!? please and thank you. |

I had a shallow bowl that occasionally buzzed EXACTLY the way you described. I felt through the soundhole for the pre-amp wires and found one too close to a brace. A little bend in the wire (taping it back would work too) and I never heard it again. |

| Welcome to the board, 57'strat. In addition to the above, also check the integrity of the rosette if it's a round-hole guitar. If the rosette has come unglued anywhere it could vibrate against the top. |

Location: Pringle ,PA | wow, thanks everyone, i appreciate the the suggestions very much. quickest reply's i think ive ever had. I did (a couple months back) take the hardware out and re-clip the wires and tighten everything up, it did help for a while, maybe its the same problem. it only does it once in a while. Its very frustrating. Also, what is a rosette? (the brace around the inside of the hole?) Again i thank you guys for your support .... |

| The rosette on (most) round hole Ovations is the raised plastic ring around the sound hole with the oak leaf motif decoration. They can crack slightly or start to come unglued with age and can contribute to buzzing if that happens. |

Location: Pringle ,PA | oh ok. that makes sense, rosette, the thing with the rose looking things on it! (duh for me) I actually was wondering if it was that myself. (when i push down on that part, the buzzing stops.) thank you very much. I actually took everyones suggestions and tightened the screws (holding the can, they were pretty tight, but i put about a quarter turn on them to be sure), re-mounted the wires, and pretty much just tighten everything up, and it seems to have stopped for the moment. hope it stays that way. this site was helpful as can be, and so was everybody. thanx again |
